A Day at the beach

I'm so fortunate to live in a great scenic area. Here are some photos from a family session I did over the holiday weekend at Old Orchard Beach.

Couples Session in OOB

I had the good fortune to be able to photograph Sarah & Matt's couples session Friday evening. It could have been slightly cooler - temps were in the 90's in May in Maine! But I wouldn't have traded anything for the beautiful sky. Such a great couple to work with I hope they get married soon (hint hint!)

Emails make me smile

I received this great email over the weekend and wanted to share. I was up photographing my cousin Dustin's graduation from UMaine a few weekends ago. I was not there as the school photographer (formal diploma shots) but just taking candids for my family. The daughter of the family infront of us was seated in the back section of the graduates (they don't sit alphabetically) so her parents weren't able to get any shots of her with her fellow grads. I snapped a few photos for them and sent them off last weekend. Here's the sweet email the family sent me...

Brittany,

I can not tell you how much we have all enjoyed the beautiful photo's you took at the Graduation. I may use a picture of Judi standing as her 'official' graduation photo. I think the candidness of her joy will beat the posed formal shot.
It was so kind of you to take the time to edit and post them on your website.
I wish you the best in your photography work and appreciate the knack you have for capturing a beautiful moment.

Thank you again,
Terri

Graduation Sneak Peek

Here's a sneak peek of the graduation I shot at UMaine Orono this past weekend. I will have more to follow this week as I won't have any time to sit down and edit until Friday evening.

Family in the Park

Today I had the wonderful opportunity to shoot a fellow photographer and her two adorable boys. It didn't look like it was going to be the nicest day but it's New England so it usually changes. Well it did. It got really nice then it got really gray again but we decided to go through with the pictures anyway and I'm glad we did. I had such a great time down at the park in our town. The two boys were just completely taken by the seagulls and ducks and I was completely surprised at just how big some of those seagulls are!

This one is one of my favorites. I love the look on his face when his brother was feeding crackers to the seagulls and I caught him eating them.

Sh-Boom, Sh-Boom. Life would be a dream...

That's the song that's been stuck in my head all morning. Dean and I headed to an antique & classic car show this morning and they had a band there playing the classic song Sh-Boom by the Chords. It's the one in Disney's Cars where all the cars in town are cruising down Route 66. I managed to get a few great shots in while pulling Dean away from the cars. I swear he was like a kid in a candy store and he wanted everything. Here's a little teaser of some of the images I captured. I have to admit I'm not a huge car fanatic but I certainly appreciate the fine details that each person puts into their car. One guy started talking to us about what went into his car and I was completely lost. He did catch my attention when he said the car had out lasted two of his ex-wives. I told him he was lucky to have held onto it during the divorces! I will definitely have more up on my site within a week. Keep checking back to the VIP link for all the photos from this event.
